PTI courses are recognized and accredited by regulators across Canada (some exceptions may apply).
Know that: Some provincial regulatory authorities may require PTI certificate holders to also hold a specific provincial license which, in some cases, may result in additional fees. Other provincial restrictions may apply. Contact your provincial regulator or PTI trainer for additional information.
Most PTI courses have been designed to be completed in eight hours or less, reducing workers’ time away from their responsibilities.

This course is designed for practicing propane/liquefied petroleum gas field personnel who wish to obtain the necessary information to perform inspections of propane tanks.
Note that this course does not qualify the individual as an ASME tank inspector or to remove pressure relief valves. Successful completion of this course will provide the student with the training necessary to safely evacuate propane/liquified petroleum gas from horizontal ASME tanks.

This course is designed to cover the fundamentals of propane fuel tanks and equipment, and the conversion, servicing, and inspection of highway vehicles that utilize propane as a motive power.
Tasks covered in this course include the installation of motor vehicle propane tanks, connecting and routing propane fuel lines, connecting and using propane conversion kit electrical and computer control systems, and ensuring the quality of the installation.
An understanding of, and experience with these topics is presumed throughout this course, however key elements of basic automotive technology are reviewed in the context of a propane conversion

The course Butane Rail Car Unloading – 300-03 also meets the following specific requirements:
This course covers the North American Cargo Securement Standard (titled NSC Standard 10) adopted into law throughout Canada as well as best practices required to ensure that cargo is loaded and unloaded safely.
The NSC Standard 10 applies to all commercial vehicles registered for more than 4,500 kilograms, except vehicles manufactured to transport bulk commodities in tanks, hoppers or specialized containers.
The course Cargo Loading and Securement: Propane Tanks, Cylinders and Equipment – 300-05 also meets the following specific requirements:

The re-qualification and re-marking of refillable cylinders can only be performed by qualified persons at locations registered with Transport Canada.
This course covers the inspection, re-qualification and re-marking of refillable propane steel and aluminum cylinders by the visual inspection method.
The course Filling Cylinder Inspection & Requalification – 100-04 also meets the following specific requirements:

This course is designed for certified propane fitters, propane bulk truck operators and bulk plant operators who wish to obtain the necessary information with respect to the inspection and testing of propane hose assemblies used during loading or off-loading highway tanks.
The course includes both a multiple-choice examination and a practical exam.
Prequalification: Prior to completing this program, a person must, where required, hold a current, valid provincial certificate to operate a Bulk Truck driver or be a provincially certified gas technician (Liquid Propane).
This course is designed for practising propane field personnel who wish to obtain the necessary information with respect to the visual inspection of propane tanks, their related components and pressure relief valves.
Note that this course does not qualify the individual as an ASME tank inspector. Successful completion of this course will provide the student with the training necessary to identify potential problems with propane tanks, tank components and pressure relief valves.
Prequalification: Students who are training for this course must be practicing or experienced propane worker.
This course is specifically designed to cover the conversion, servicing and inspection of industrial equipment that utilize propane for either motive power or fuelling, including the fundamentals of propane fuel containers, and propane fuelled appliances.
This course is designed for certified Red Seal (or equivalent) automotive mechanics who wish to obtain the necessary information with respect to inspecting and certifying such product installations.

This course is designed to provide propane operators of propane powered off-road vehicles with the information necessary with respect to exchanging propane carburetion cylinders 33 1/3 lb. liquid withdrawal carburetion propane cylinders used for engine fuel supply. This course includes both a multiple-choice written examination and a practical examination.

This course is a self-teach awareness training course only for anyone wanting a basic overview about propane, propane systems and the proper, safe way to use this premium fuel.
The certificate will be valid for 36 months but does not allow to perform activities related to the safe handling of propane and propane-powered equipment.
The course is designed to provide introductory information to those who wish to learn about location requirements for consumer propane containers (which by defination include cylinders and tanks). The course emphasizes the importance of correct propane container location.
This self-teach course provides the necessary information to familiarize the reader with the safe storage, handling and use of propane and propane equipment at construction sites. The manual helps the reader identify potential safety and non-compliance issues.
