When Inuvik’s natural gas supply ran low, propane delivered — overcoming Canada’s most challenging routes to keep a northern town alive through winter. In August 2025, Borealis Fuels & Logistics was selected to supply Inuvik, NWT, with propane for the winter season—requiring the installation of 2.27 million litres of additional storage and a synthetic natural gas system ahead of the cold months. The completed system now provides 2.27 million litres of storage, including 15 tanks of approximately 87,000 litres each, four skidded tanks of about 163,000 litres each, one 189,000-litre tank, and one 114,000-litre skidded tank.

Last week, the Canadian Propane Association met in Winnipeg with Obby Khan, Manitoba’s newly appointed Leader of the Official Opposition.
The meeting served as an introduction to the province’s propane industry, its economic and environmental contributions, and the critical role propane plays in ensuring energy security and affordability—especially in rural and remote communities.
