Who Are We Looking For?

The CPA is seeking dynamic, engaged and strategic-thinking leaders of the industry to join its Board of Directors. These individuals will provide strong leadership and governance to support a viable and thriving propane sector. Nominations are open to full-time employees in senior management roles at member companies in good standing with the CPA.

  • 1 x Retailer East (includes Québec and Atlantic provinces)

NEW! Another Way to Get Involved — Standing Committees

Not quite ready to commit to a Board term, or not eligible for the open Board seat, but you still want to contribute and gain insight into how the Board operates?

The CPA Board is now also accepting applications for newly created non-Director seats on the Board’s Standing Committees. These roles provide a great opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders, contribute to key governance and oversight work, and build a deeper understanding of Board responsibilities.

Standing Committees currently accepting applications: 

  • Financial Affairs Committee (1 opening)
  • Governance & Board Development Committee (1 opening)

Commitment  

  • Term: 1 year (may be extended at Board’s discretion)
  • Attend three (3) virtual committee meetings annually

Nomination Process

Members are invited to nominate themselves or another member for a position on the Board by completing the nomination form.

When submitting a form, please ensure the following:

  • The nomination form must be signed by two employees of member companies in good standing, excluding the Nominee.
  • The submission must include the nominee’s biography.
  • The form must be sent to melissamichaud@propane.ca no later than Friday, January 30, 2026, to be considered.

All applications will be reviewed by the CPA Board Governance Committee.

  • Board of Directors nominees: Ballots will be created from nominations received and CPA members will cast their vote at the 2026 Annual General Meeting.
  • Standing Committee applicants: Successful candidates for the Standing Committees openings will be selected by the CPA Board.

The CPA Board of Directors plays an important role in guiding the future of the propane industry in Canada.

As industry leaders, the Board of Directors plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the Association. They ensure its policies, guidelines, and priorities align with the evolving needs of members and the propane sector. Board members also oversee the appointment of key leadership positions, including Officers of the Board and the President and CEO, fostering strong and visionary leadership.

The CPA Board is composed of a diverse group of talented and passionate leaders from across Canada who are committed to advancing the propane industry. Representing retailer marketers, transporters, MACE/service providers, producers, wholesalers, and multi-regional retailers, these individuals volunteer their time, expertise, and insights to drive meaningful progress and innovation.
