The federal government announced it is exempting home heating oil from the carbon tax for three years.
Propane, like heating oil, is a rural fuel, and it is a grave oversight not to include propane with heating oil in the exemption. Rural Canadians who use propane are facing the same financial pressures as their neighbours and deserve the same breaks on their heating bills.
